Lady Gaga Has Influnenced You

Lady Gaga is one of the most inspiration people, whether you like her or not. She unarguably embodies a femme fatale and as shown in the video she affects millions of people. People aspire to be her and they change their lives to embody her persona. She is a shape shifter because she changes appearance and she changes ideas. She's a superhero because she's inspiration to so many people and she also stands for important ideas and values. She is a wonderful role model, and while not so controversial i think she embodies everything that this class represents, like conveying messages and persuading people to act a certain way. We would love to hear whether or not people agree that Lady Gaga embodies all of these roles and whether or not you believe she has influenced you or affected your life at all.

  1. Lady Gaga is definatly a femme fatale. She changed her look all the time but none of them is tender or sweet.Even though she is kind of crazy and weird, exactly opposite from the traditional image of a good woman, I still think she is cool. I can't accept all of her behavior and outfit, especially I remember she has an outfit that made of raw meat. That is gross! But she frequently challenge the tradition and stereotype, which inspires a lot of people to be creative and release themselves.I think she is represent what the modern women will be in the future.

  2. I believe that Lady Gaga exemplifies a superhero more than anything. She encourages everyone to be him- or herself. Regardless of sexuality, nationality, religion, or any other beliefs, everyone should be treated as a human being. Lady Gaga pushes that belief and inspires people to stand what they believe in. Aside from superhero she is also a femme fatale and shapeshifter. In my opinion though, superhero is her predominant characteristic.

  3. I can definitely see why many would consider Lady Gaga a femme fatale, but I would argue that she is more of a superhero and a shapeshifter. As the previous comment said, she is a superhero for what she does in terms of being herself and encouraging others to do so as well. I think she exemplifies a shapeshifter more than anything else tho, as almost every picture/video I have ever seen of her seems to be completely different in the weirdest of ways, like the meat suit mentioned by Hanpei. I'm not even sure what she looks like "normally."

  4. I think that Lady is easily a large influence on pop culture and exemplifies superhero shape shifter and femme fatal by changing outfits, personalities, and by inspiring everyone to be their weird freakish selves. However, I would argue that though she is a strong influence, and though she is a hero for many, it does not necessarily mean that she is a hero for all. Despite all of her work for the LGBT community, in terms of popularity in that niche, she's second to Brittney Spears. Also, though she is known for speaking at gay pride rallies and constantly claims 'bi-sexuality' (when there is no record of her ever dating a woman), she and her management seem to neglect this very same group behind the scenes. When Weird Al parodied her single 'Born this Way' and offered to donate all profits to LGBT charities, Gaga's management refused to approve it until Weird Al posted about it on youtube and his blog explaining the situation in order to pressure them. Many people dislike Gaga, and though that still perpetuates her influence as an icon, it does not perpetuate her influence as an 'LGBT superhero'. Though I am grateful for the strides that Lady Gaga has made for acceptance of homosexuality and individuality, I often question how much bite she has to her bark.

  5. I agree that Lady Gaga does demonstrate female fatale in the fact that she is always trying to innovate both music, fashion, and how people perceive sexuality. However I dont agree that Lady Gaga is a superhero. I mean, she isn't the only celebrity who has been an inspiration for people or has tried to innovate something. And saying that Lady Gaga should be considered a superhero is like saying that all celebrities should be considered superheroes, which is something I dont agree with. But yeah I do agree that she is an inspiration to people. And maybe she isn't to everyone, but then again who is?

  6. I think that Lady Gaga can be put mostly into the categories of shape shifter and superhero. The idea of a shape shifter is very obvious when you look at Lady Gaga of unique outfits. The role of a superhero can be heavily debated for Lady Gaga, and I believe that she can fit the role of being a super hero to everyone. I agree with Max that Lady Gaga is trying to inspire each person as an individual to do what makes them happy and even if you don't agree with the ways she chooses to express herself you can still take this advice and fit it into your own life.

  7. Lady Gaga has taken the entire pop culture by a surprise. She is in my opinion a female fetale because of her attitude. The way she handles herself and the way she dresses. There is something dangerous about her.
She is a shapeshifter because the way she presents herself and the outfits that she wears are unique. What she wears is her own style. She uses ordinary things and magnifies it into her style.
As a superhero Lady Gaga changes everyone's outtake on music. But even though some consider her as a superhero, I feel like she is more of a role model. She sets an example for others.
She does express herself in ways that many do not. She may be a superhero or a role model but is she that for everyone?

  8. I definitely should agree that Lady Gaga is femme fatale, and she possesses the power to influence others with the understanding of what is fashion. Therefore, she is also the shape shifter.
Currently, she is the most famous celebrity who is also the most innovation individual does somenthing others can not match. But, I can hardly agree with the idea that she is superhero. To be categorized into superhero, the one should draw both praise and controversy for both their behaviors perceived influence on social and political issues.

  9. Lady Gaga is a shapeshifter for the obvious reasons that she changes her entire appearance every time she goes out in public. She could be doing this to promote individuality or it could be for completely different reasons. She could be doing this just for publicity. When one watches a music awards show, or somewhere that Lady Gaga would appear, one immediately knows that Gaga will come out with a spectacularly weird outfit, therefore people are more interested in Gaga's appearance.

In the end, Lady Gaga is a shapeshifter but not just for the obvious reason of promoting individuality.

  10. She has definitely made an enormous impact on the pop culture movement. Her unorthodox style of dress and catchy music has grabbed the attention of audiences in the millions... and no one can dispute that - just look at the view counts on YouTube. Samer raises a valid point. I wouldn't go as far as to say that she would not reach celebrity status if she didn't dress the way she does, but it indisputably has a substantial impact on her public image.

I'll be honest and say she's had no positive influence on me: to me her music has no real value, but it definitely gets the job done at a club. As for her irregular attire choices, well, it's not like she's the first to do it: every decade has had its own fashion movement that corresponds to a specific genre of music. What it really comes down to is getting the right record label to release your stuff - there's bound to be thousands of musically gifted artists with their own style of dress that just haven't been discovered.

  11. Lady Gaga really influenced us. I am not quite familiar with American singing stars and I never noticed this femme fatale although I knew she is a famous and controversial singer. Her songs are played everywhere no matter if you notice or not. Her fame and popularization can be clearly felt from the actions of the fans in this video. She even influenced Lee Hom, one of my favorite singers. In his new album, the topic song talks about the influence from Lady Gaga and even adopted some part of her song "Poker face" or "Monster" (I cannot remember clearly).
Her news are not strange to the public. She only dress something special and controversial.
But I want to say that her style relies too much on her stage properties. I cannot concentrate on her face in her MTVs as there are too many features that are so cool. Unlike MJ, I can concentrate my mind on the steps of him and the sound of him.

  12. Personally, I am not a Lady Gaga fan. I feel that she can easily be labeled a femme fatale and a superhero for some groups of people. Her outfits definitely label her as a shape-shifter and cyborg. Just to add on to the topic of her dress, I feel that she definitely has an interesting history with her outfits. I feel like it ends up being an important part of who she is. Ed made the point that every decade has new fashion movements, but I feel that Gaga's is a little more extreme than the norm. I agree with what Ed says about her dress helping get her albums sold.

  13. Lady Gaga can be considered a femme fetale, shape-shifter, and a super hero. I personally consider to her to be only a shape-shifter, but that is because the music industry. Artist constantly try to make themselves stand out to gain more attention. In the modern music era, an artist's image is more important than it's music, and Lady Gaga is one of the best at creating an image. Every time the music awards are on people are talking about what Lady Gaga will wear or what surprise she has in store this year. She always keeps her fans on their toes and than trys to blow their minds with what crazy thing she will do next. Even though I personally am not into I understand why millions of people are.

  14. I agree with the idea that Lady Gaga is a superhero, a shape shifter and a femme fetale. No doubt that she did make a different in this world. The first time I saw her in the TV I suddenly realize that the superstar who has the power to challenge the rules was appeared.
Her way to success is being unusual-no matter what she dressed, how she looks or how her songs sound. It's not a new way, so many people have tried. The reason she is so succeed is that she really catch us eyes and ears. We love how her songs sound and enjoy watching her in different strange clothes. She never disappoint us.

  15. I support most the idea of Lady Gaga as a superhero. In relation to the title of the post of how Lady Gaga has affected all, I believe this ability to affect all reveals how she is a superhero. In whatever she does, wears, and/or says, Gaga gives people the strength to do the same, and be who they want to be.

  16. I do not know Lady GaGa very well, and I just heard of it. From my impression, she is a superstar that influenced many many people, but I have no idea how she influenced people. I personally do not listen to music at all, because I do not want music to affect my mood and I need a silent mood so that I can do other thing well. Everybody like to be entertained, but I cannot see any value of entertainment.

  17. when i first hears about lady gaga a few years back, i thought to myself that this is just another wanna be that's gonna dress up all crazy just so she can get media attention. after her just dace song and poker face, she was just gonna dissapear just like afro man did. i thougtht she was just gonna come out with a few hit single and make a whole lot of money and will never be seen again. but time (along with this video) has proven me wrong. there is no doubt that she is very inspirational. but part of me can't help thinking that she is still just doing all this for the attention. this reminds me of a shape shifter because she is changing her apperace and her attitude in a way that would keep her in the spotlight. i feel like her fame isn't about her singing talent as much as it is about her fashon statement. i thing the face that she is so famouse is because we always hear about the different shapes she embodies. one day she is waring a meat dress, the next day she is dressed like an egg. i think that as long as lady gaga keeps "shifting her shape" she will always be in the spotlight and alway be an inspiration to people.

  18. Lady Gaga is, without a doubt, very inspirational. She gets people to not give a damn about inhibitions, rather, to express themselves. She's told her story quite a few times about being an average girl in high school, but look at her now...living the dream and encouraging others to do the same. I think she most embodies the Superhero.
